There are two ways to set your websites to wait for the next version of WordPress (instead of updating to the current one): in bulk, across multiple sites, or on a site-by-site basis.
Step 1
Login to your Glow account.
Step 2
Once logged in, click on Tasks
from the main left hand menu.
Step 3
The Tasks
screen will load the WordPress
tab from the inner menu automatically.
Step 4
Across the top of the WordPress
screen, you will notice that the page has loaded on the By version
tab by default.
(If you want to perform this action on a site-by-site basis, move down to Step 8 below).
In order to use the Wait
function in Glow, there first needs to be an update available – otherwise there is nothing to wait for.
The available updates are represented in different information bars across the middle of the screen, with the number of websites that require that particular update, indicated to the right hand side.
Click on any of the information bars to expand the panel.
Step 5
The header of the panel will now have changed colour, indicating that it’s open.
In the expanded panel will be a list of the websites that require this version upgrade.
To begin the Wait
process, click on the checkbox to the left of each of the websites that you would like to set to wait.
Step 6
Having clicked on the checkboxes you will notice that the Wait
and Update
buttons in the bottom right corner of the panel are now clickable.
Click on the Wait
button.
Step 7
A few things will now happen:
- The websites that you selected will disappear from the panel
- The number of sites requiring an update in the header of the panel will have reduced by the number you chose to update
- The
WordPress
section of the client area for each of the websites you selected will now display a Waiting
note on the WordPress
tab.
Step 8
If you instead want to perform the wait action on a site-by-site basis, you can do this from the Client Area or by clicking on the By client
tab across the top of the Tasks
screen.
