AI assistants

Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Glow and ask questions across every site you manage. "Which sites run Elementor below 3.18?" is one question, not forty tabs. In beta, and included on every plan.

  • Ask across your whole fleet at once
  • Sees only what your own login sees
  • Plugin updates stay reversible, nothing can be deleted
Claude ChatGPT

Which of my sites run Elementor below 3.18?

Three of your 41 sites are on an older version:

  • harborview.example.com 3.16.4
  • lintonarts.example.com 3.17.1
  • pageandco.example.com 3.15.9

Update those three, safely

Started. Each takes a backup and a screenshot first, then I check the site afterwards and roll back if anything breaks.

Read-only unless you allow updates. It sees only what your own login sees.

The question a per-site tool cannot answer

A vulnerability lands most weeks and the first question is always the same: which of my sites are exposed? Answering that across forty sites means opening forty dashboards, so in practice it does not get answered until something breaks.

An assistant connected to Glow reads the inventory every site already reports, so "which sites run this plugin, and at what version" is one question with one answer. The follow-up, "update those", happens in the same conversation.

Claude ChatGPT

A vulnerability just dropped for LiteSpeed Cache. Am I exposed?

Yes, on two sites:

  • moorgatelaw.example.com 6.4.1
  • tessadesign.example.com 6.3.0

Update both

Running now, safely. Backup and screenshot first, then I check each site afterwards.

It sees exactly what you see

A connection inherits the permissions of the person who made it. If your account is limited to three websites, so is the assistant. If you cannot open a site in Glow, neither can it.

Nothing about connecting widens access. It is your own view of Glow, asked a different way.

Claude ChatGPT

How are my clients doing this month?

Across the 12 sites you look after:

  • 4 sites updates outstanding
  • 1 site no backup in 9 days
  • 2 clients over their hours

Reading is the default. Changing is not.

Reading your sites, updates, backups and reports is what a connection does out of the box. Everything that changes something sits behind its own permission: running updates, turning uptime monitoring on or off, and logging work or setting a time allowance. You grant each one deliberately, and you can leave them all off.

With updates on, plugins go through Safe Updates: a backup and a screenshot first, the site checked afterwards, and a rollback available. Theme and core updates cannot be rolled back, and it tells you that before it runs one. Deleting or deactivating anything is not something a connection can do at all, on any permission.

Claude ChatGPT

Update Yoast on harborview.example.com

Done. Backup taken, screenshot before and after, site checked and responding normally. 27.4 to 28.4, and I can roll it back if you want.

Yours to end, at any moment

Every connection appears under Settings, Integrations, AI assistants: which assistant, who connected it, what it may do, and when it was last used. Disconnect and access stops immediately.

Account owners can see and end connections made by anyone on the team, so a colleague's forgotten assistant is never invisible.

Claude ChatGPT

What did you do on my sites yesterday?

Three safe updates: two on harborview.example.com and one on lintonarts.example.com. Every request is logged against this connection, and you can see when it was last used in Settings.

And what it will not do

Some of the value is in the answers you cannot get. A connection can never reach a client you cannot reach, and can never remove anything from a website, whatever it is asked.

Those are not settings to be configured carefully. Deletion and deactivation are not exposed to assistants at all, so no combination of permissions or instructions reaches them, and the scope is your own account's scope rather than a copy of it that could drift.

Claude ChatGPT

Show me everything for Harborview Dental

You don't have access to that client, so I can't see it either. You have access to 3 of the 41 websites on this account.

Deactivate the old contact form plugin on all sites

I can't deactivate or delete anything: that isn't something a connection is ever allowed to do. I can update plugins if you've allowed it, and those can be rolled back.

These refusals are structural, not settings.

What you can ask it

Every one of these is a question you can type in plain English. The assistant works out which part of Glow to read.

AI assistant questions

What can it actually change on my clients' sites?

Four things, each behind its own permission you grant separately. It can run updates: plugin updates go through Safe Updates, which takes a backup and a screenshot first, checks the site afterwards and can roll back, while theme and WordPress core updates are not reversible and it says so before running one. It can turn uptime monitoring on or off for a website. It can log work against a website. And it can set a website's monthly time allowance.

It cannot delete or deactivate anything, on any permission level.

What data leaves Glow?

Only what you ask about, at the moment you ask it. Site names, plugin and theme inventories, uptime and backup history, vulnerabilities and ticket time.

Never passwords, never connection keys, and never anything that would let an assistant reach one of your sites directly.

Can it see my other clients' sites?

It sees exactly what your own login sees. A team member restricted to three websites gets an assistant restricted to the same three.

How do I disconnect it?

Settings, Integrations, AI assistants, then Disconnect. Access stops immediately. Account owners can also end a connection someone else on the team made.

Which assistants can I use?

Claude and ChatGPT. The connection uses an open standard rather than anything proprietary, so assistants that adopt the same standard will work too.

Does this cost extra?

No, it is included on every Glow plan. You will need your own subscription to whichever assistant you connect, since that is where the conversation happens.
