Glow can be connected to an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, so you can ask questions about every website you manage without opening each one. This article explains how to set that up, and what the assistant is allowed to do once it is connected.

Before you start

You need your own Claude or ChatGPT subscription. The conversation happens inside the assistant, so Glow does not provide one. The Glow side is included on every plan.

Step 1: add the connector

The exact steps differ by assistant, so each has its own article:

In both cases the address is https://my.getglow.io/api/mcp. Use it even if you normally sign in on your own domain.

Glow is listed in Claude's directory, where adding it is a single click with nothing to copy and paste. The ChatGPT listing is still to come, and until then Glow is added there by hand.

Step 2: sign in and approve

The assistant will send you to Glow to sign in. You will then see a screen naming exactly what the assistant is asking to do. Reading your websites, updates, backups, uptime and reports is the standard request.

Running updates, changing uptime monitoring, and logging work against a website are separate permissions. You can approve the connection without any of them and everything else still works. Grant only the ones you want the assistant to be able to do.

Approve, and the assistant is connected.

Step 3: ask it something

Useful first questions:

What needs attention across my sites today?
Which sites run Elementor below 3.18?
Which certificates expire this month?
Which clients are over their hours?
Which sites have not been backed up in the last week?

What it can see

Exactly what your own Glow login sees, and nothing more. If your account is restricted to certain websites, the assistant is restricted to the same ones.

It never receives passwords, connection keys, or anything that would let it reach one of your websites directly.

Troubleshooting

The assistant says it is connected but cannot answer anything. Check the connection is still listed under Settings, Integrations, AI assistants. If it is not, it has been disconnected and needs adding again.

It says it cannot find a website you know exists. Your Glow account is probably restricted to a subset of websites. Ask an account owner to check your website permissions.

You are a super admin, or signed in as someone else through support. Connections cannot be made from those sessions, because the connection would belong to an account that had not seen the request. Sign in as the agency that should own the connection.
